I wrecked my 2004 road king inmay 2011. I got it used at hammond harley with 1500 mile on it for 10.400 in 2008. They totaled it out so i started calling around looking for a 2012 cross bones. A week or so later a sales lady at mike brunos northshore harley called me and said she had my bike. When i went down there they didn,t have it baton rouge or hammonds closer.my bike was my only means of transportation.so i put 2700.oo cash down and road of on a used 05 deluxe afer amonth the tail light assembly started falling apart and it was very uncomfortable. So afet makeing 2 payments i brought it back and said this is not what i was looking for and half the stuff on it was falling off.they had a 2008 street glide which is more my style .the problem is they wanted another 2050.00 down.i wrote a check and told the guy if he cashed it on the 9th 16th it would b covered.but he didnt. They only gave me a 650.00 trade in on the deluxe which i put 2700.00 down on a month and a half before now since the person didnt cash the check on the 16th of september it did,nt go through.ive made 2 payments on the street glide now its n the shop with electrical problems.and they turned me into a payment recovery service.ive been lied to from the begining saying my crossbones was there and then the guy dropped the ball cashing the check on the 16th.i wanna know who i can talk to higher up because i got sold a lemon to begin with.i would like to know why they were only giveing me 650.00 dollars on a bike i put 2700.00 down on and was gonna charge 15,ooo for. I think they shoulda gave me my 2700,00 dollaars back. Now they got me in a helluva bind.someone please help me cause i shouldnt have got lied to in the first place.then they dropped the ball on the check and are messing my credit up

I think you messed yourself over in this situation, you should have waited until the 16 to buy a bike, and you shouldn't have rushed in to a bike you didn't really want.
I'm not sure you have any recourse here, but good luck
yeah, sorry.
should have kept your checkbook in your pocket until they had the bike you wanted and the arrangements to pay for it.
don't ever make the mistake of thinking that a dealer is your pal-- and it's long been said that buying a used bike is buying someone else's problems..
see posts here all the time by riders who screwed up their bike " trying to mod it" so were trading it in on a new one.
I'm really sorry to hear about the mess. I hate hearing about good people being taken advantage of. On the other hand, as said above, maybe the checkbook should have stayed in your pocket until you received what you originally wanted.
I'm not sure if you have much recourse here. I really hope you do and I hope someone more knowledgeable about this can offer better advice.
I view any dealership with the theory of "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer". They all act like your friend, BUT they are ALL out for one thing.....the almighty dollar.
The others have already said it all. You need to slow down on the borrowing. You had time to buy a $5000.00 car for $3000 cash that you had put down. In the mean time you would have had time to shop around for a bike and save some money. Then probably sell the car for more than you paid. With all the cash you've been putting down and money lost on payments, you can afford a nice bike out right if you just stop this nonsense for 6 months. These are just a few options, but finance is personal. I'm just saying what I would personally do.
..I'm sorry too that things have gone sour for you..but you have to be realistic..for instance, you're upset that a dealer is giving you less than you put down when you show up to trade a bike back in?...really?...dealer is supposed to let people buy a bike, ride off for a month and a half...then just take it back?...what about the time they spent cleaning up the bike for sale, the salesman's salary?, the overhead to have a dealership?...like others have said, you rushed into this and it cost you...as far as the dealer not having the bike you wanted after you got there?...if you can prove they've done this as a pattern, then you have a case for "bait-and-switch"...that's probably your best bet to go after them....good luck
The dealer is NEVER to be trusted. The salesman will tell you anything to get a sale....the people in the back who handle the paperwork will cash tthe check when they are ready, and the salesman is never even consulted.
Sure hate to hear of your bad luck. If money permits, buy a new bike, and get what you want, instead of settling for what they have on hand.
don't want to kick you when you're down, but you might want to take a money management class here.....
you should have just left the dealer when you went down there after being told they have 'your bike' and didn't. with a quick stop in the gm's office on the way out.
Hate to pile on, but you should slow down in financial decisions. A salesman job is to take as many of the customers dollars as possible and never a close deal. They make money or pass.
I hope somehow you can get on the right side of this situation. Just my two cents.
