Inner fairing gasket installation question

I agree with 'BBStacker'; but I feel that the Gasket(s), I only recall a Gasket on the outside of my '98 FLHTCUI, are there to keep moisture from getting inside the fairing, and I also, agree with the plastic against the windshield contact protection. .. I arrived here from searching for 'FLHTC windshield fairing gasket' because when riding yesterday I had to ride in some moderate rain. I noticed that the audio from my radio began to sound like all the speaker wires were loose and vibrating. After the rain would subside, and the windshield dried off, the audio cleared up. When I stopped for fuel I looked closely, at the outside gasket, (no longer the original part; replaced in the past with an 1/8" thick strip of rubber); the Gasket is leaking, is my guess; dripping enough moisture on top of the radio itself or a connector; I have yet to remove the outer fairing to see if this could actually, be the cause. I do plan to see if I can find the OEM Gasket(s) and install them.
