Question Inner fairing gasket installation question

I am in the process of re-installing my inner fairing, just had it painted. My question is , I was going to re- install the rubber gaskets that goes between the inner and outer fairing before I install it, When I removed the gaskets they came off pretty easy, It had some glue from factory which held up really well, what should I use to glue it back on without a big mess? If you order new rubber gaskets do they come with an adhesive already on them? Any help would be appreciated .

I left mine off. I cant recall many bikes with painted inner fairings that put them back on. Kinda brakes up the color.

Yes the new gaskets come with glue in them that adhere when you install. For the minor price of the gaskets, I'd buy new instead of messing with re-gluing.

What Dawg said, replaced mine when I had my inner done. As far as leaving them off....I'm thinking they are called gaskets for a reason. Keeps h2o outta the inside of the fairing or maybe just to prevent plastic rubbing on plastic. My guess is the latter.

Definitely reinstall that gasket. If yours is still in good shape then reinstall it with 3M car emblem adhesive or clear silicone. DO NOT load it up. Use small dabs. Should be fine.

I never saw a gasket at the windshield.....so I don't know how "water-proof" the gaskets on the fairing will be.

The two gaskets aren't necessarily for keeping water, but more for protecting the two fairing halves from scratching the paint on each other. The gaskets are about four bucks each, and come with adhesive.
