I was just wondering if there's a kit that allows the removal of the trunk and also provides a mount for both of the antennas. I've seen one that keeps the radio, but I can't find one that also provides a mount for the CB antenna.
Also, I know that there is a docking kit for easy off/on of the trunk, but it doesn't seem to accomodate the CB antenna either.
Yes there is. The part # is 53246-09A. It costs $466.62 at Zanotti's. I purchased one & installed it on my bike last spring. I did not use either of the antenna mounts that came with it, but did use the coax extensions that were included to mount the stock antenna's inside the fairing. Its a very good and complete kit.
I bought a Firestik device that mounts under the fairing, it combines the radio and cb... http://www.westcoastmall.net/ar1a-ma...ter-p-220.html - Bought a small cb antenna from Radio Shack. Then did the quick detach kit on ebay... everything really affordable. Never bother to hookup the rear speakers or tourpak lights.
Don't do it... take a poll. Most people who get the kit don't ever remove the trunk and when they do wish they had it.
I had the kit on my 2004 EGC and have it on my 2011 RGU. I use it all the time. I would say that I run about 50/50 and I do about 15000-20,000 miles a year. It was the one accessory that I told my wife I had to absolutely have and ordered as soon as I got my new bike. It takes a second to remove and put back on. Makes the bike completey different.
With all respect to LawDawg I finally removed my Tour Pak with a quick detach kit and it is the best mod I have made. My Tour Pak has spent more time off since I removed it. I thought there was no way I would want to take it off, but, it is a completly different bike when removed. I love it.
When I added the tour-pak, I had the detachable setup... now, it is the rigid mount just like an Ultra... I never took it off, and the detachable setup rattled.
