Default Extended Warranty

I thought my compensator was going out so I took my bike to the dealer to have it check out today. Sure enough, not only was the compensator bad the stator was bad as well. Both items where fix under the extended warranty. The bike runs great now. I am very pleased with both the work as well as the extended warranty. So, there have been many opinions on getting the extended warranty both pro and con. In my case, the $ 1,000 cost to repair the problem today cost me $ 32.00, so the extended warranty paid for itself. Also, some time ago, my radio went out and it too was replaced under the extended warranty. To date, about $ 1,500 in repairs have been covered. I know it’s a crap shot to purchase or not to purchase the warranty but in my case, it has already paid for the premium. They replace the compensator with the SE compensator by the way and I didn’t have to pay for the upgrade so that was way cool. I have until March 2014 left on the warranty. I am feeling very comfy about repairs and very glad I purchase the extended warranty.

If you have a radio, throttle by wire, and all the electronic goodies..I would go with the extended warranty,it can get costly very quick..

The dealer where I bought mine pays the deductable so the $50 is on them for any extended warranty work. I used it on my 03 RKC and it paid for itself, I would not go without it. And by the way for all that say that you buy a three or five year and you getted ripped because it doesnt kick in until the 2 year MFG warranty ends etc... My card expires 5 years after the 2 year mfg warranty so 7 years of coverage.

They gave me a credit for some parts. Didn't understand what the service manager was telling me. I guess I was so darn glad I wasn't paying the entire bill I wasn't listening. In any case, it was due to some sort of credit they allow me.
