10 1/2 inch Clearview is the size I was thinking of going with. Do you ride 2-up and if so what does your passenger think of the change? I want to be sure my wife doesn't get hit with more wind.
Gotta give the half moon shield a huge shout out. I have had several on various bikes and they work extremely well. Extra width looks great on the bike and the clarity from speakers in the fairing is very noticable. These folks are SUPER nice to deal with and will customize any size, shade, etc.. You cannot beat the price and the service. My two cents. Steve
I had the same issue with the stock shield, I tried going with a shorter (10.5"clearview recurve) shield, and it was OK, but I found that (looking through it) a 15" Memphis is my preference (WAY WAY less wind noise). I think a vent would be nice on this taller shield for hot weather. You shouldn't need one if you go shorter.

I had the same problem with my Ultra. I quickly changed to an 8" Long Ride Shield (LRS Ultra) and have not had a complaint since. I'm in central FL and it is great for the hot summer days and the "colder" winters as well.

Don't ride 2 up very often but wife hasn't said any thing about wind and she does hate the wind in the face that's why she has a stock shield on her UC.
Grats on the New Bike, Ember Red is one of the best looking colors for 2012 I think. As far a windshield I'm putting on the 6.5 klock werks I had on my SG as soon as spring arrives. I'd rather look over a shield than thru it, however the larger shield (stock) is nicer this time of year.
