Just out of curiosity... If you use the Amsoil in the Primary and the Trans why not in the engine? Especially the 20W50 stuff you are using in the Primary, same stuff that you could use in the engine. Based on partially using Amsoil products it doesn't appear that you are an Amsoil hater or anything. Again, just curious.
In my opinion, because I change the engine oil more than the others, I'd rather go w/the $10/quart stuff than the $15/quart stuff and thought I'd read where the Mobil-1 is every bit as good as the Amsoil in a crankcase of an internal combustion engine.
I go w/the Amsoil where the oil doesn't get changed as often.
I went through my supply of Shockproof Heavy and switched back to Mobil1 75w-90. I can't tell the difference. I tried all the usual syns in the primary but likewise I now pour the cheapest Auto Zone 20w50 I can find in there. Again can't tell the difference. I use Mobil 1 products in the crank.
DOes anybody know the weight of Harley-Davidson's Formula+ ? I've been very happy with it so far. I figure if Harley is confident enough in it to give it a 20K mile change interval, it must be ok.
I'm trying Spectro Heavy Duty Platinum 6-speed Transmission Oil 75w/140 this time around. I figure if Baker recommends it and ships it with all their transmissions it must be half decent.
Been using Red Line HD Shock Proof which worked well. Man that stuff stinks when you drain it out and let it sit in a container in your garage over night.
Gear lube is like that.....ATF is real bad too especially if its the synth wow...like a cadaver stink.

I cant speak for him but I don't because the couple times ive used it, it doesnt appear to hold up. Same results in my cages so I stopped using it.....JMO
At my 5k service, I had them put in Bel-Ray synthetic. What a difference it made. Shifting isn't nearly as clunky, and neutral is much easier to find now.
