I rode the 09 CVO RG and the 12 CVO RG Custom. Everything is better on the 12. Much better windshield, seat, and stereo! I rode behind a 124" SG and I couldn't touch him when we opened them up. I went through the same thing when I bought my Limited in 2010. My wife gave me the green light on the CVO orange and red flames. I fell in love with my black and blue Limited and never looked back. Probably have close to 30K in my bike and I know i can out pull a stock CVO. Getting back to the subject. If that 12 RG CVO was around in 2010 someone else would be driving my black and blue Limited today!
You may want to try Treasure Coast H D in Stuart FL. I'm sure you can pick a CVO there for MSRP + dealer fees, reg and tax. If you need a point of contact let me know.
Thanks for the heads up, I passed by there on Sunday but they were closed, I may give them a call, they're about 100 miles away, but it would be well worth the trip.

Here's their phone # 772-287-3871
ask for Donna or J. B. They're both sales rep.
Tell them Dennis P. sent you
I don't think you will regret it. People can say what they want about CVOs but they are sweet rides. I was in teh same place as you. I had a RKC that I loved and I had customized to the point I was happy with it. 88 to 95, bars, cables, seat, bling, etc. Then I fell in love with a CVO SG. I went through the same mental calculations you are. In the end, I said goodbye to my King and got the CVO. Now I get the pleasure of tweaking it to make it mine. Bars will be in tomorrow and hoses on Friday. Seat and lighting changes later in the spring. Do I regret making the switch? Not one bit
I have to agree with everyone here. I bike that good looking? I would do it if I could too. Exhaust and cams. That's what you'll want to do. For certain exhaust because these new bikes are too lean and too hot. Do it.
tell them you'll take it if they change out your cheap tour pak hinges to the deluxe ones. The black gloss may look pretty good on the bike too. It's a crying shame that they sell a 35k+ bike and put cheap crate looking hinges on the tour pak. I changed mine out last month. tour pak lid is way stronger, and it looks so nice. Now i see myself always looking at other tour pak hinges. I really like that color combo for the CVO, also I like the yellow one they have out. Either way change out that crappy hinge to finish it off. jeff
