Put a set of RK hard bag guards on my EG. Like the looks. They run along the bottom of the bags. No extra mounting hardware needed. Looks a bit cleaner & nostalgic. Don,'t know about the SG though. You have the filler strips between your bags and the fender.
As has been stated so many times, it isn't IF you drop or dump but when, the little woman and I did just that on one cruise, bag guards on the king did their duty and got all scarred up but no bag damage, I consider them well worth the pain of install on the SG and RG models, buddies have done so.

wow dude that's a subtle change that looks awesome
2011 Road Glide Custom. Did anyone put the twin rails with the saddlebag guards ?
With the fillers between the fender and the bags my indi said he would drill holes in the filler to thread the rails through. Does this sound reasonable ? Thanks
I have a new take off set that I removed for my 2011 limited. I didn't like the guard so I replaced them with a set for a street glide. If you are interested contact me at captwjf@***.net
On my 2012 Street Glide, I would like to add the saddlebag guards, much like the limited.
What all will I need? I know the side guards, but will my saddlebag supports bolt up to the new guards? Will I need to purchase new supports?
Im also going to add the RK nostalgia side rails...
Anyone done this mod?
Thanks
Your bike looks slammin just the way it is...okay saddle bag guards road kingish, but funtional....nostalgia rails too? To me less is more and more is to much. JMHO I'll shut up now.

I already have the parts. I should have checked here first. Ordered part # 90892-09 $ 329 hen thad to order the supports 49194-09A and 90781-09A $ 101 each . One thing led to another now almost $ 600 and they want 20 % to ship back.
How did you cut the filler ? Any measurements so I get it right the first time ?
take your time & lay it out carefully..I didnt take down any measurments..I just did what was needed for both sides to come out right.. that was back in 09 not long after i bought my bike.. I did use the blue painters tape & taped up the filler strips.. then marked as needed.. I used a fine tooth hole saw & cut 2 holes per filler strip.. start the hole saw in reverse to make a line.. then switch to forward..worked well no chips or scratches.. then used a grinder & fine debur to remove any excess materal to complete the oval..
