On my 2012 Street Glide, I would like to add the saddlebag guards, much like the limited.
What all will I need? I know the side guards, but will my saddlebag supports bolt up to the new guards? Will I need to purchase new supports?
Im also going to add the RK nostalgia side rails...
It has exploded diagrams for most models, and you can see and compare parts--- it's good for the "what fits what".
And you can track part changes from year to year or model to model.
To see actual parts numbers ( as explained on the site) you put the item in the cart, the part number is shown at check out- no, you don't have to buy from them.
You may need to have part numbers handy when looking at parts in the acces catalog ( such as will the nostalgic rails fit part number XXX ?)

Anyone done this mod?
Thanks
You'll need the supports as well as the guards, and HD makes a kit now to retrofit guards to your bike. OTOH at $220 MSRP (Zanotti's shows them for $173) you might want to try to find a good set on Ebay like I did. There are people who want the SG setup and will have their old hardware for sale, and that opens up an opportunity to sell your SG setup too. I haven't sold mine yet, but I paid $100 for my guards on Ebay and the supports were included. I can't say what they're going for now, but I would check it out. Any hardware for the '09 will fit later model-years, but earlier models are not interchangeable with yours.
Warning about buying used guards: Make sure you have a firm description of condition, as many have road rash, which is why they're getting rid of them in the first place.
If you want the comfort style or black you will need to buy the supports separate and it almost doubles the cost.
I installed them on my FLTRX and wanted them in black so it was about $ 150.00 savings to buy the chrome complete kit and then have the bars powder coated instaed of buying the black bars and then the supports etc.
Sometimes they can be found on E Bay
I think to add the side rails will require cutting or drilling / modifying the rear fender fillers on your bike.
