11 Limited, I have noticed I don't get as good mpg as the 96" SG did. When it was stock I got 50 MPG one time. After the stage 1 I routinely got better than 40 on the highway. I've got to keep it under 70 to get better than 40 MPG on the 103.
I get 36 to 38 around town and on Interstate. Get 42 to 44 on country roads at 65 mph or less. Got 44 in NC mountains riding 2 up. I didn't often get above 55 mph.
First, I qualify my results by saying that my gasoline is non-ethanol, 93 octane, when it's available. If you are using gasoline with ethanol mixed-in, your mileage WILL decrease. Go read Consumer Reports article "The Ethanol Myth" and draw your own conclusions.
Before my stage I, I was getting around 40-41.5 mpg. Now, after the Stage I (FM 2-1-2 header, FM stage I air cleaner, Jackpot Pro-Touring mufflers, and last but not least, Rev Per Pre EMS) I still get a touch over 40. If I am on a long interstate trip where I might not drop below 70 very often, it slips to 38-40. Still very reasonable. And interstate fill-ups usually contain ethanol, so in those cases the mileage slips another 2 or 3 mpg.
2011 flhtk. I have 10831 miles on it and according to my gas cubby app my average was 40.26, highest 47.15 and lowest 32.26. Started to show some improvement at 1500 miles, but as I got more comfortable with the bike I think my riding style may have become more aggressive
