I bring mine up to the front (Nose) of the seat and have it come out on the right side. I did the right side because that is the side that I dismount from so that if I foget to unplug it the connection will easily disconnect without binding.

On the Sporty, it is in the middle of the seat and tank.

UC it is below the seat on the left side. Both get tucked away when needed

I put it in the front, did not like the cable near my tank.
I put it in the backrest, did not like turning around.
I put it on the rear crash bar, this I liked. One hand to plug it in and unplug it.

I ty-wrapped it under the seat and used the velcro ty-wrap on the crash bar.

I don't care much for the big *** dual thermostat controller. I got the leather case to put it in. Then it took me an hour to figure out where to wear it. I could wear it on my pants but that made using it a bitch. So I put it on the outside of my leather jacket on the belt adjustment strap and that lines up with the power cable and makes using it a breeze. But then since it was on the outside I had to put a piece of black tape over the 2 LED's since they continuously flash unless you have them turned all the way up on high. I don't want to look like a xmas tree going down the road at night.

Now if it starts to rain on me I will have to move it back to the pants under the jacket.
Bought the pants, jacket liner, and Dual Thermo and case. $615 so will see how they do on the trip up to Reno in the morning.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions.

Mine comes out the nose of the seat. I am thinking about getting the permanent temp controller and trying to figure out where to put that. Where have you mounted it on your FLTR?
