I am looking into purchasing a Road King. I am looking at a 2007 Road King Custom with 3195 miles for $12,995 and a 2009 Road King Classic for $14,250 unsure of the mileage at the moment. What do you thing is the better buy?
09. 07 was first year of 96"motor and has a few small issues,09 stiffer frame, wider rear tire, larger bags, higher weight rating,6 gallon tank, moved exhaust under frame and away from rider, still has no cat.
maybe think about staying away from dealerships and save some cash
the 09 has pipes and some bolt on accessories, which is nice if they appeal to you, if you don't like the skulls, you can resell them to buy the stock covers if they don't come with

Most will tell you to op for the 09, but I have an 07 and Im happy with it. Mine is and flhx but is still a touring bike like the road king. The price difference not being a big difference, might as well go for the 09. 1250 is not much, considering the difference in years.
I got an 07, all don't have a whiney 5th gear, but, they are bgeared wrong. Heat issues yes, but the bike your looking at may or may not have that addressed already. Crank, some had issues but not sure the 09 is any different. For the money difference though, just for the updated frame, if you like the 09 better get it.
