clutch cable

Default clutch cable

I have an 05 roadking it had the apes on it allready when i bought it and some one had put way to long of a clutch cable on it buddy of mine has right length cable i need its brand new just wants 20 bucks for it he cut the clear coat on the out side of the cable while installen it and doesnt want it on the bike its cut on the part next to the motor so not that noticable. His bike is a 09 so i need to know if it will still work on the 05 road king. thanks in advance guys if it will work going to save me about 60 bucks or more

I dont see why it wouldn't work just fine. Take yours off
and take it over to his house and compair both ends of
your cable to his and make sure they are the same. If they are
pay the man then sell your old one to offset the cost or make a
couple a dollars profit

no it will not work the 05 has a different length sticking out of the housing then yours.

The '05 is a 5 speed, the '09 is a 6 speed so I am sure the poster above is correct that they won't interchange.

Changing a clutch cable can be a bit of a bitch since you pretty much have to remove the exhaust system to get the right side trans cover off. At least you have a King so you don't have to disassemble part of the fairing.
