Default 12 flhx speakers

I noticed with the stock speakers at full volume, there`s quite a bit of distortion, will a speaker upgrade cure this? reccomendations?

I just installed the HD Boom! Audio kit (with amp) and it made a huge difference. You'll find that some here will favor one brand over another, but really, anything at 70+ mph that still sounds clear is a winner. I'm pleased with my setup, and think it's money well spent to not have to deal with distortion.

there are a lot of threads on upgrades to the stereo system, take your time and read some of those threads.

I had the same issue.
I fixed it with J&M Rokker speakers and a Bazooka 200.4 amp. (I was too cheap to dish out the bucks for the J&M amp)

! I used to run the stock stereo full blast on the highway and sometimes it was still hard to hear the lyrics. That is no longer a problem.

My stereo now borders on obnoxious loud! Where is one of those kids blasting gangsta rap when you need one! The lyrics are all crystal clear and I was listening to parts of the music I had forgotten where there. This, while going 73 mph....
Audiophile wise I can only tell you that classic rock and blues sound pretty good on this thing. I can't imagine how loud it would be with J&M's 500 watt amp....
I am pretty happy with the way this turned out....

Good luck..........................
Wind in your ears is a major problem riding over 65 mph.
The Hd amp and speakers setup should help,
a bigger windshield will help,
simple ear plugs in your ears will help.

The best sound will be wearing ear buds with foam tips. Iron Cross Audio can set you radio up with a jack to use some ear buds.
