citytrucker26 - Thanks for that advice. Good info and a good reminder.
I have one other tip. I haven't done any kind of a stabilizer fix on my '04 EG, but I will be doing one of them. In the meantime, I replaced the original equipment air shocks with a set of progressives. This change alone helped a tremendous amount with the handling.
I think the 06 FLHX is getting a set. I get the flat tire feel on the super slab in long bends. Talk about full pucker... Thanks for all the info folks!
I installed the Sta bo 1 last week on my '90 Flhtcu, adjusted neck bearings, and did a full alignment, it never really had any wobble before, but I never realized just how spongy feeling it was, really tightened it up.
The instructions on these are very vague.... remove swingarm bracket.... (footpeg) mount, install with grease, re-install bracket. I did that on the left side and could still move bushing after the bracket was installed???? Would that be correct? The "flange" of the bushing rest against the frame?
the sta bo kit is one of the best on the market. I just replaced my swing arm bushings with the sta bo bearings in the swingarm and then installed the sta bo busings in the factory rubber donuts. Bike corners like it is on rails. I have no wobble, great stabiliy and can really get deep into a corner if i have too. I now routinely drag the floorboard in corners and have drag marks on the bottom of both extended saddlebags, after the install. My bike has never cornered like this , not even when it was new in 2004. Great product and great engineering.
Seems like it's a phoking mystery as there are no vids of the Sta Bo install that I can find anywhere. The Sta Bo instructions are a joke with drawings that look like a kid drew them. I'm interested in the product but need to see exactly how it is installed and fits in real life.
I saw one guy say he had to sand down the swingarm shaft to get it to fit? If it's such a great product and the maker is such a nice guy HOW ABOUT SOME DAMN INFO?
