I just got one of those combo speedometer/tach gauges (70900072) and am trying to install it on my 2012 RKC.
The instructions say after connecting the speedometer to the diagnostic port, set the RUN/STOP switch to RUN and then turn the main switch to "IGN" and it will program itself.
When I do this, I get nothing.
However, when I plug the speedometer into the speedometer harness on the bike the display reads "no cal" just like it's supposed to.

Make sure you have it pluged in the right boot.Same thing happened to me,wouldn't do nothing till I found the right plug.
Is there more than one that will fit? I thought the data port was under the seat, towards the front near where the dash attaches. Looks like a 4-pin plug with a rubber stopper in it - when I plugged in the provided cable there was a "click" like it went into the right place.
I've only had the bike for about a week so I'm still learning.
There is another one it will also fit in,if I remember it's lower down close to the fuse box. It's been awhile, can check it tomorrow if you don't find it.

That would be the one, behind the pull-off plastic piece that covers the fuse box.
tell me what you think of that heads up reflection display in the windshield, I'm guessing it is worse with this speedo. I had mine put on day one and do not see a speedo visor for the king. I did get a shorter windshield but it's winter now.
I keep the bike in a side-yard with an all-weather cover on. It gets dark so early now I probably won't have a chance to try again until next weekend, but I'll report back how it goes.
