The passenger portion of the STOCK Ultra seat IS TO WIDE for the passenger grab rails that Harley Makes!!!!! I had a stock seat from a 2011 Ultra ON MY 09 ROAD KING! While IMHO the bike rode as smooth as an Ultra (AMAZING difference in comfort over stock RK seat) the wife lost her grab rails and wasn't happy. We ended up putting on a Sundowner and tourpak with wrap around backrest, as well as the grab rails.
i thought the pass grab rails were standard..the first thing i took off my 01 EGC when i got it.. the grab rail helps locate that huge rear seat if nothing else
thanks for all the replies. The chrome handles look good. we have the rear speakers. The wife was looking for the handles in the parts bible they give when you buy. She is the one that said they don't offer the handles. Will have to check for myself.
I have a Passenger Grab Rail Part number 97026-09 Chrome that I have never used because the Sundowner Seat that I have is too low. I would be willing to sell it for $60 plus shipping..let me know if you are interested.
Yeah, but how does she lift herself up to adjust her, ah.....posterior?
Have an 11 SG. When we tour I have the tour pack with the wrap-around back rest (no speakers). My wife just tells me when she's adjusting. She puts her hands under her thighs/butt, lifts herself up a little and just pushes on the footboards and lifts herself up & back, never needed grab rails.
Harley came out with the NEW grab rails for the later model newer framed 09 and up. Prior to that was a different model number for THOSE bikes.
The NEWER model fits my 2011 Ultra Limited (See attached pic). It WILL fit his 2011 (same frame- same seat) Ultra Classic. Period. Makes a great place to bungy things to when passenger not aboard too!
