Slothy, do you run them? I'd definatly have to ride one before shelling out the cash for those trees. They can say they handle great but who's saying. If the trail is off its off and so is the handling. Being good at 80+ doesn't mean anything if at 55 its a nightmare.

i personally haven't, i cut my neck with hhi raked trees - i will see them this friday when i head over to his shop.

those trees i posted are not to be confused with hhi trees - those are totally diff.

Paul @ native said he rode up to 100mph a few times and riding around town to test it and claims no wobble. there is a post on them on another forum about chopper baggers.

if they work as good as he says then for the people who dont want to/afraid to cut their neck that might the next best thing. i just dont like how it looks "unstretched" - but others might.

I would have to sit and discuss the geometry to be convinced. Ness claims his trees handle correctly also and the bike I rode with them felt like crap when compared to one done with trees and neck. I go thru a lot of calculations to get the trail figures to maintain factory or better handling and just don't see how you change the tree rake only and maintain proper trail. Neck angle, tree offset, fork length, frame height, axle centerline all add up to trail. I'll end up getting some to check figures if nothing else, cause it will keep me up at night...lol

Here is our shop Streetglide with a 23" front no rake. Around town it handles fine no wobbles and even on the freeways going 90 it has no issues. If it didn't feel right we would rake it but haven't felt the need to. Of course this bike doesn't get ridden as a daily rider but I wouldn't hesitate to take a long trip with this set-up.

I'm not doubting that, I personally haven't rode a 23" without being raked. I would have to ride one myself to really be convinced. BTW nice ride!!!

For 21'' and 23'' set-ups you guys are running the 21x3.5 and same for the 23''?

I want to get either size next. Probably just going to do the front unless I can do the back as well. The bags cover the rear and I dont really plan on putting in shows and taking bags off to see the rim. But If i have enough coin come that time I will.

Where do you guys get your tires from?

21" would be my choice to run "safely." I would only drop the front end an inch with the 21". Otherwise you might as well bolt on a 23" since a 21" with a 2" drop will bump the front fender like a 23"

I installed Ricor Intiminators, and FBI bottom out spacers to help the front as much as I could. I steer away from imperfections in the road just like anyone would. Does it ride great at any speed? "Absolutely." Safely is a big word since it all boils down to your brain and wrist control.

Go with whatever makes you happy. They all ride "safely"

Here's a couple picts. Both 23" setup except the Road Glide has the frame cut and raked.

I just ordered some HD trike triple trees and plan on running a 23. Would there be a problem with this setup? Im not getting what trail is?
