Default Big Bore Stage 1 v. Stage 1 + stuff

Finally! My stock 06 Road King Classic, 11 months old, is going to be "inhanced" in some way after 14K miles of quiet, restricted sluggishness. I just haven't decided. My options, for the money, are:

Stage 1, true duels, Fishtail IIs, PCIII (or equivalent depending on what I get my grubbies on)

or

Stage 1 95" and staying with stock pipes

Advantages are obvious for both, I guess. More power w/the big bore, cooler look/sound w/the 88" Stage 1.

I've read a lot about the HD download on this forum, but mostly it's limited to "the HD download is crap" without details as to why or in what way. Unfortunately I probably won't be able to swing the 95" and a good tuner. And I don't think I've seen anyone here with just the 95" Stage 1 w/stock pipes (yeah, I'm a poor soldier).

Is anyone configured that way, and if so, how restrictive are the stock pipes? Intuitively I know they would be, but I'm looking for folks to share their impressions. Is it worth it? Or should I go w/the 88" stage 1 and try to dig up some money for the jugs later?

Any opinions/thoughts are appreciated from you folks who are smarter about this than I am.

Thanks...

I started with stock and went stage 1 to include duals, slip ons and Fuelpak. Now I'm putting in cams and PCIII. Then I will go with 95 in the near future. I would suggest for you to start with stage 1 and add in increments when you have the money. The only thing you should do is do your homework and figure out what parts compliment each other and start building with those parts.

Go stage one/PCIII & decent exhaust system. Can upgrade to a big bore later on when ya got the cash to do it right.
