Inspector 12:....not all shotgun pellets are made from lead. Some from Steel, some from Tungstun, some from Bismuth.
Very familiar with shot shell composition since shooting shotguns is one of my major passions, shoot about 4000 rounds a year. Steel and tungsten would work but I don't think they would be cost effective, don't recall if bismuth shot is round or irregular circles?
Either way, none of the shots you suggested are readily available in small quantities to the average fellow unless you happen to have some laying around, where as dynamic balancing beads (read not necessarily the dyna bead brand) can be found at any tire shop that does truck tires.
As to the purple stain around my lips, must be that kool aid you were referring to.
I use dyna beads, but I would not buy that brand again, they work fine but they are to expensive. I can't find it, but there was a link in here for beads that sounded like they were better quality for half the price. Search goolge
I've been using them for 2 years now. I've used them in my 2010 RK with tubed tires since new. I replaced my tires at 17K miles with American Elite's. No wear to the tubes. I posted picture's of the old tube I cut open in an earlier thread. I think it was called Dynadeads in Tubeless tires???
Bottom line is they work and work well!
They work great. Been using them for about 4 years now. Not a balance weight 1 on any thing in my fleet. Dynabeads are ceramic coated and perfectly round. They are made for the Science/Research industry who use them for various things. http://www.invitrogen.com/site/us/en...echnology.html The cost is ridiculous when repackaged but even if I need 4 oz 16 bucks is not much money to have a glassy smooth ride.
If you buy the beads in a bigger package you can save a bit....If you search you can find silica beads..... they have to be small enough though to be effective right? If you just use 1 tire per season then $10-$12 isn't much to bitch at....if you go through 3 tires a season then you should buy it in bulk and save the freight at least.
I run the wheel weight and the beads.....I found it made interstate riding a lot smoother.
You can also find a product called "Counteract" on Ebay....
MAKE SURE you switch the air to winter air ....the summer air only works until End of November the the beads start to stick together....

Yeah... the properties of summer air versus winter air in the tires affects the volatilaty of the coefficient of drag therefore making the negative ions surrounding the dyna beads adhere to the positive protons of the oxygen molecule and making the beads stick together....
