Default 2009 touring frame

Ok it's been 2 years and 16 k miles later with this new frame. I'm in winter "go over bike with fine tooth comb"mode from riding all year. I can't help but stare at this new type frame that's actually bolted together in several places.

The bike still rides like a dream but i can't help but wonder. Has anyone had any frame issues with these frames yet?
Bolts breaking or loosening up on the frame?

I haven't. But every time my eyes run across a frame point where the frame is bolted together I ask myself this question.

Anyone?

I have not noticed any problems. I was told the MoCo went that direction for greater versatility and so there could be less "totals" from wrecks with compartment replacements. Excellent point you have, another thing on my list, right beside checking the fuel nozzle before fueling for wadded receipts, cotton *****, and cig butts to clog fuel filters. Merry Christmas everyone!

My 2012 SG rides like a dream. better than my 07 RKC. Don't know if it is the frame or not, but a lot smoother.

Bolted frame sections are very common on metrics and I didn't hear of any problems when I was riding a Honda and frequenting metric forums

They did something simple this time they can use the front end for whatever or just bolt on the trike rear. They made it this way when the trikes came out

Got 20k on my 09rg without any issues at all. Like said in a previous post, they did the frame change to bring the trikes in house. With the new frame though they do handle better than the previous years and it also adds 1 degree to the lean angle.
