I have been pretty happy with the heritage style bars. They fit me perfect and took away the back pain from the original bars. Guess to each his own. I would try a few different bars on your style bike (if you know some folks with the style you are looking for). Remember Klaybus opinions are like A...holes we all have one.

Wouldn't mind trying the heritage bars but I've got a mini tach handlebar mounted gauge and in the parts catalog, it says it won't fit with the new bar or even beach bar. I can't understand why. Is it because of a tighter fit between the new riser and the handlebar cover?

FYI- The clutch cable is at it's limit in length however but will work fine by removing the guide that is mounted on the nacelle. It creates no danger however but other than that, it's a great mod & inexpensive too!

Yep, Softail bars are the ones in the back.
a dremel type tool with cutter wheels works good for notching... a cloth tape for measuring too.

EXACTLY! That's what I used & I literally cut the end off of the "Heritage Style" bars! After suffering through about 2 weeks of riding with them I thought that was the best thing I could do with them.

I sure didn't mean to offend anyone but IMHO those bars suck! Some like em some didn't. I've had a few people contact me for info on the "Softail Heritage" bars after being so disappointed with the "Heritage Style" bars.
I've said it before too, seat & handlebars are really subjective & to each their own...I guess now anyone who reads this thread will know I think the "Heritage Style" bars suck.

I really like my "Heritage Style" bars.

I wasn't real impressed with them until I pulled them back quite a bit. You have to pull them back to get the proper wrist angle.

They are pulled back far enough that I only have about 1/2" clearance between them and the tank at full lock.

It was a MAJOR improvement over the stock bars. I would buy them again.

Yep, I think we can all agree "anything" is better than the stock bars. Me, I actually removed them & went back to the stock bars until I got my 09-11 Softail Heritage bars....
