Do it, it will keep more dealers in business and you farther in debt, hence stimulating the economy. To me it is a win-win and you are exactly the type of customer HD dreams of. One willing to go farther in debt every two years and giving them a used bike that is barely broken in. Hell the young folks aren't ponying up the cash for HDs so somebodies got to keep dealers in business
So here's the deal. I have an opportunity to trade my 08 RG with 25K miles in on an 11 CVO RG Ultra with 17K miles without getting beat up too badly on my trade. I am in awe when I look at all the details of this bike as well as all the creature comforts! It's just plain loaded with everything I already have and things I never dreamed of...and I like the color too! Best part is I can own it outright but it'll sure put a big dent in my savings! Am I nuts??? Or would you be thinking about it too???
Sounds like you have made a decision, you dont need us to endorse it. If I was in a position to do a deal on a bike I wanted, I would do it tomorrow.
You guys have me all kinds of confused! So you think I should do it?!?! I told the salesman I'd think it over and have an answer for him in a couple of days. Didn't sleep a wink last night though. Too busy pondering the situation. Think I'll have to go for it. I can deal with sleepless nights worrying about money(or lack thereof). But I wouldn't even know where to begin dealing with a bike purchase keeping me awake!
BTW it's not the red one. It's the same bike in cptdenny's sig pic. If the two were side by side and I had to choose I'd probably lean towards the red one. But I'm pretty enthusiastic about the charcoal color too. And I just don't feel lucky enough to believe a red one is going to present itself in my near future!
I wonder if this unusually warm Iowa weather is trying to tell me something? No snow yet and the Saturday high is forcast to be nearly 50 degrees!!! No trailer or delivery needed!
You really want it get it. Seems your pretty excited about it so buy it and start enjoying it . You know what you can afford no one on here does. If it will make you happy do it . If it won't don't do it. Its that simple lol
I had a 2011 Deluxe with a bunch of stuff done to it, but I was in love with the Street Glide....needless to say, $4,000 and 1 year later I have a Big Blue Pearl Street Glide and a pile of parts waiting to go on. This thing we do isn't to gain money.....its to lose it....impress people we don't know with things we don't need!
If you can afford it do it. You wouldn't take the time to lose sleep over something if you didn't want it.

If I had a choice between the three available colors for a 2011 FLTRUSE, The Charcoal Slate Gray & Black would have been my last choice. However since it was also the last 2011 FLTRUSE my dealer would get, I had the choice made for me. Since I wasn't in favor of the color, the dealer gave me a better deal by allowing $2K more on my trade ins than they offered a few months earlier on another CVO.
The color is growing on me and I feel it retains a classic color combo that will stay in style over the years.
Just remember money is only dirty paper. You can always make more. Life is slipping away for all of us every minute. Enjoy it while you can. As stated earlier, DO IT. I love mine. I had a red 08 Road Glide before also. No comparison the CVO is a much nicer bike.
