Glad to see you're healing up and may be able to ride again soon, BMWs are a nice and sophisticated bike, but I still prefer the pretty girl over the nerd, lol, good luck and stay on the forum.
Congrats. At least you've still got the softail when you're in the mood to ride something obnoxious.
I definitely hear you about the weight, the 800# girth of my RK is my biggest complaint about the bike. I rented a Fat Boy on St. Martin last month and it felt like a sportbike in comparison.
I am glad to hear that you are healing and doing well..The wife and I will see you down the road am sure.. Doof land ?
Y'all will, and I'll probably have picked up some German so I can talk to Isa (or at least understand her when she gets worked up).

I really wanted to, 'cause they're a great bunch of guys there. I went to Battley to look at a CVO Ultra, a Duc Multistrada, and the Beemer RT & GS Adventure (gotta love multi-brand dealers). Not enough wind protection on the Duc, and the CVO was over 40 grand by the time I added a decent seat and a pair of bars that don't hurt my neck. I love the GS Adventure, and really want to get one some day, but the RT is the better 2-up machine, and I've got a wife that loves to ride with me. The one I got was a 2011 demo, and it was 6 grand off list. I couldn't afford not to buy it.

I'll bet you the cost of the bike you're wrong. I'll also have the black bike in my signature that I can walk out into the garage and get my fix whenever I want.

That was honestly one of the only reasons I looked at another Harley. They're beautiful bikes with phenomenal fit & finish, and they turn people's heads.
I love the look of the BMW. Years ago I was looking at one, but there is not a single dealer in the entire state of ND and no independants that work on them. If I lived in an area that had better access to one I may have one of those Bavarian beauties as well. Nice bike, enjoy!
Glad you're healing well brother, and congrats on the BMW. They're great bikes. I got to ride one not too long ago around Lake Okee and I didn't want to get off, lol.
And I her you on getting tired of slinging around a 900 pound bike...........
I have considered trading down from the Limited, but it's not a financially sound decision at this point. We'll see how long until the not so smart part of me takes over and it gets done, lol.
I honestly miss my RKC like crazy, should have stayed with that bike and just added what I wanted to it.......
What a great bike for the money! And seeing you grands off... man, great deal. My brother is a big BMW rider (Cars and bikes). Great products. He has the same and it came with every option for the same price i payed for my RG.
Enjoy your your new ride! Love the thought of getting my garage back to multiple models for the type of riding i want to do.
Glad to see you are doing well. Congrats on the RT, nice bike. I had a 08 RT but it was a bit tall for me and had to have the most uncomfortable seat I've ever sat on. Even tried replacing the seat with after market but couldn't make it work. Loved the way it handled though, and plenty of get up and go. I think the price of parts and servicing was MORE than a Harley dealer though. Word of cautiion, keep an eye on the rear end. Don't know if they fixed the problem or not, but they used to have a tendency of puking the lube out and going south; not fun while going down the highway at 80 or so. That was probably the BIGGEST reason I traded mine in on a Harley. Oh, and if you think Harleys need special tools to be worked on; you ain't seen nuthin yet! LOL Also had a K1200R which was a rocketship. Had to get rid of that thing before I ended up killing myself on it! Enjoy the RT, there are a ton of accessories on the market for it.
Your gonna love the RT. I'm guessing the Softail won't get a lot of action but it's great to have to stay connected to the big V-Twins. I'm fighting the urge now to get a second bike. The GS Adventure keeps calling me but not sure Momma wants me to answer! I see a lot of dirt roads when I take trips....I just want to see where they go. Then there's always that trip of a life time up the Dalton highway. Ahhh the swiss army knife of motorcycles, one day I will have one of those fugley bitches.
