Changing the pulleys lowers the gearing? How is it at highway speeds?

I know I can always go bigger than the 103, just wondering how to squeeze more power out of my 103 without making the bike louder or breaking the bank...

I have never seen any one praise the 255's as most of you have in any thread. They are good cams but the 204's will pull and run better than the 255's any day. There, I said it. Just wish I could write about the 204's for 10 pages.
I'm just kidding. To each his own. I'll have to say though the SE cams are a great bolt in cam set. 203, 204, 255, 254e's. And then you want have another guy say then to really make that cam work for you advance the cam's 4 degrees and pull the heads and get the compression to 10.1 and she'll fly. No what I mean...

They certainly are popular. I'm considering the Woods 555 but not sold yet. Now I would really like to know more about the SE 204. From what I have read they seem to be a great choice. Are 1.725 rockers needed or an option? One characteristic that caught me in a thread on these was "drivability" Would love to hear from any who run them.

The BRP has a 45 mph speed limit and you can go 50 to 52 wiith out the park rangers stopping you. Crusing at fifty put the bike right at 2300 rpm in fifth, hit a steep uphill curve and you will be forced to drop to 45 and that puts the bike right at 2000 rpm. That forced a downshift to forth with the stock cams, if I was a little slow getting around to downshifting or the curve was fairly steep, I would have to downshift to third. Since installing the 255, if I drop to 45 on a steep uphill curve, I just roll it on on exiting the curve and go right back to 50 to 52 mph and 2300-2400 rpm, with out have to downshift. The bike doesn't lug or buck, it just smoothly accerates. That's the way I ride, if the crank won't hold up to it I'll either repair it when it goes out or trade it in on a new Wing that will stand it, day in and day out for hundreds of thousands of mile. I have no interest in a cam that waits until after 2500 rpm start making good power, but I would be interisted in one that made the same power down low like a 255 and still had a flat curve past 4500.

Yes, we definitely ride differently. Guess that's why there are many different grinds. I'm glad your happy with your cams.

Here's the best thread I've found on ratio changes:

Also, I'm not sure what pipes you have, but Supertrap Fatshots are a great performance pipe while remaining relatively quiet. You can tune the sound and performance.

No, it's not a gearing issue, it's an issue of the bike not pulling worth a hoot stock, the gearings just fine. If it was geared lower by changing one of the pulleys, than it would be geared to turn too fast when on the interstate.

When I was in my early twenties, I rode a 350 Yamaha. We rode the BRP a lot with friends and as long as nothing got in the way that bike would run the intire parkway, two up, in fifth gear. Other modern bikes with similar gearing as my Limited will run the Parkway without constantly have to be shifted like a 125cc bike, I expect the same out of a 1690cc Harley. With the 255s and stock gearing it runs like it should, with a relaxed none screaming ride on the interstate and the ability to pull good in the mountians in forth and fifth gears, without constantly having to be shifted. This is a touring bike and is used by some of us to tour. Seems like some only worry about how much faster and quicker they can make it. If that was all I was worried about, I wouldn't be riding touring bikes to start with.
