Default D&D Fatcats

I mentioned in another post that I'm very close to buying myself a Christmas present in a D&D Fatcat with Ghost pipe? A couple of question please...

-I have a SERT tuned bike with my VH True Duals and Ovals. How much retuning would be required?

-Are there any clearance issues or fit issues with the Fatcat on a Street Glide?

-Love to hear from others who are running a Fatcat on their bagger....performance improvements, sound, looks?

I ran a Thunderheader on my last bike, Fatboy, for a few years and loved it. Whats the word on Fatcats and baggers?

There will not be any problems with the FatCat pipe on the right side. The left is an unknown for me as I don't have the falsie. From my experience with the pipe, I would not expect any issues. This is a great pipe, with great quality, performance and sound.

Where are you guys located? I would love to hear these as I am still undecided. I am in Alabama, I do not mind driving.

American Rider magazine on page 61 tested the Fatcat new quiet baffle.
They found on a 103 “ engine the sound went from 98 db at idle and 113 db at 3,200 rpm to 87 db at idle and 92 db at 3,200 rpm. No retuning required.

You won't get the full benefit of the pipe without retuning on a dyno. It would be a waste of a SERT to not take advantage of it's tuning capabilities to maximize the effect of the Fatcat.

Yes you are correct I thought the magazine should have re-dynoed the bike also.
I chickened out on buying the Fat Cat, bought the Rush slip-ons instead.
I did not want my bike to be too loud for me, as it was I bought the 2” Rush and aim now going to order the 1.75”.

You cna't go wrong with a FatCat on a Bagger. I've ground most of a set of floorboards and brackets off and never touched the pipe. THe only way you can drag a FC on a Bagger is after you crush a saddlebag in a crash. That may not be true on a Softail or Dyna... but no dragging a FC on a Bagger!

They make pretty good toque, that starts at low RPM's and stays pretty consistent all the way across the spectrum.

I haven't heard one yet, but, I've really dug through the mountains of comments about them on this and several other boards. I'm pretty convinced that the Fatcat is the deal for me. Not the quiet baffle. I'm looking for a pipe that once it is tuned it will make a sugnificant difference in power in the rpm range that I and most bagger riders use most of the time.
Apparently they aren't too at cruise, but, still have the ability too wake the nieghbourhood if you twist the loud handle and don't block out the stereo unless you right on it.
In my case, the stereo becomes a lot less important when I'm holding on real tight, so no biggy when they are loud.
Slide through towns and subdivisions in stealth mode.

Go with the Fatcat. You'll be happy that you did. One of the best mods I ever did. Love the sound and the power.

Thanks,
Tony

So, you are saying to get the regular baffle?
I can't decide between the regular or quiet baffle.
I haven't heard any replies on anyone using the quiet baffle.
I don't want it to be too quiet. I am currently running wild pig slip ons.
