i cant help with the heat shields.....but they say to go back and re torque the exhaust/head studs after you ride about 50/100 miles....mine were quite loose when put on my v-h power duels after a good ride....but they are different (they use the se type gaskets)...but I thought I would just throw that out there...

I too did not see any stock gaskets when I installed my Power Duals/Monster Rounds last month. I went ahead and installed the supplied V&H gasket which is like steelwool.

I've always done one of two things to make sure my pipes "fit/slip" on properly---use a piece of wood and rubber mallet to "tap" (yeah, really tap) it to fit or I've used spray lubricant....spray onto a cloth and rub it around the pipe that will recieve the other pipe.....a bit of spray and some twisting or tapping has always worked. My street glide was a hell of a lot easier to get the pipes to meet than my R1 was....that thing was OBSCENE! Took like 3 days to get it "just right"....but I'm awful particular.... lol ;0)

Removed the muffler, replaced the clamp with the new one I had, sprayed a little wd-40 on the head pipe where the muffler should cover, and it slipped on like a glove. I was looking at it this morning before I left for work, and I may have positioned it a little too much on the head pipe. I'll loosen and make minor adjustments tonight.

Put new clamps on the heat shield, and it seems to fit better too.
