Hey I know I should buy the manual but I have to install my new dresser duals and was wondering if I can just unscrew the sensors from the head pipe or do I have to remove the wiring connections first and how hard is this to do? Plus any tips for removing the stock exhaust and installing the dresser duals. Also can this be done by myself or do I need a second set of hands? Thanks for any input
You can do it one of two ways. Disconnect the sensors(wiring) and remove with the pipes, or unscrew the sensors from the pipe before removal( pay attention as to which sensor goes where). Be careful with the tips of the sensors while they are out of the pipes.I wrapped a piece of tape or something loosely around them to protect them. It's definetly a one man job, not difficult at all. You're gonna need torque specs to snug everything back together, so your statement about a service manual is right on the money!!
Sensor wires are clipped on. Just pop them off. Take the exhaust off, unscrew the sensors and place them in the new exhaust. I would suggest using a small amount of anti seize on the threads
Gray is Front Cyl Black connector is the rear cylinder, On the stock header you will see a G and B etched in the metal. I always disconnect the wires and let them hang loose til the pipe is off, then remove them.

So I just pop them off with needle nose pliers or is it like a clip you have to pry at first? Also when removing header do I have to remove heat sheilds first/ Thanks

Trace the line from the bungs back and you should find a clip that you can slightly pry up with your finger or flat screwdriver and pull the clip out. I did not remove the shields on my 09. I did have to loosen them first.
Just to be clear, the sensors themselves screw in to the headpipe, the "clip" is a Molex style connecter that you need to depress the "lever" on to disengage the connecters that are under the right side cover. They are coded black and gray to indicate front and rear. There are also several zip ties that need cut along the wire route
