Are you sure it's not the sending unit for your Oil Temp's that not bad. There's really no reason you should be running that hot unless you're running lowers in the middle of summer and they are closed.
I think it's worth a shot to try the xieds. I took my pc3 off and ran the xieds on my 07 and she was a champ. Those tfi units are odd to get right. If it's that hot, I'd be trying something else.
I think I looked into xeids last season when someone suggested them and I think I found out that they don't make them for my year bike....i will look again though - thanks.

I am going by my digital HD oil dipstick - it's entirely possible that it needs a new battery or it is innacurate - I will look into it - thanks.
There's no doubt in my mind that your oil gets as hot as you say it does, sounds about par for a stock Twin Cam, Stage 1 is an intake, exhaust, and fuel management, your at about Stage 1/3. Cool the dino oil or run synthetic. An exhaust won't lower your oil temperature, it may reduce the radiant heat the rider feels. You can't go wrong with a Jagg product. I would offer that there is not a significant failure rate of thermostats, they are pretty simple and reliable devices with a rated life of over 10,000 cycles; you would have to heat up and completely cool down 3 times a day, every single day, for over 9 years to exceed the rated life. They do what they are supposed to by allowing the oil to come up to operating temperature before directing to the cooler automatically. Contrary to popular belief, your oil still gets hot in cold weather, in some cases hotter, no need to shut off the oil cooler in the winter. Your bike is an early generation non-O2 contrloed EFI, doesn't adjust to environmental condition changes so well, it likely leans out and runs a little hotter in the winter, just like mine does.
I have a stage one, 09 EGS here in texas, it runs on amsoil, but it is a real rare event to hit 230 even on 100 degree days...I presume my bike was richened because it came with rineharts and a kn filter, but it has the stock pipes back on and it has to be stop and go or neighborhood traffic to get to 230.......
