Hey guys while waiting on my 2012 SG to be delivered to my local HD shop, I had a friend pass away and I was able to pick up his 2011 RG with low miles and loaded. Had the ABS, security, and cruise which I wasn't going to be able to afford on the 2012. So I was wanting to know if anyone ever converted their RG shark nose, to a SG batwing and if so whats an educated guess on the cost and what issues will I run into?
Here is a wright up on the opposite. I saved this link because at one point in time, I was seriously thinking about doing it. I am happy with my batwing now that I got the buffeting fixed.
your RG parts are worth more than SG parts; if you can do the work yourself the out of pocket costs will be minimal -- check ebay for inner and outer fairings -- may have to paint them

Ride the RG before deciding on converting. You may find (as many have) that you prefer the ride.
BTW, owning a realized I realize I appear biased, but I was fortunate enough to ride both the SG and RG for 1500+ miles through a variety of conditions before deciding.

You can usually find a rg front end on ebay. I just converted my road king to a road glide. Took three days. Most of time spent on wiring
Should be easier if the wiring is already present
Thanks for the advice. I will sure be keeping a look out for someone that is wanting to do the opposite swap. Might have to post that and see if I can find any takers. I am going to continue to ride the RG for the next couple weeks and see how I like it. I must admit that it is a smooth ride but to me it just looks awkward.
