Default how will removing stock headers be difficult?

Getting ready to install my new dresser duals to my 2000 RKC and in researching the install, many people are saying that removing the stock headers is the hardest part and a pain in the ***....what should I be ready for.....any tips for making it easier?

Thanks.

Taking stuff apart is always easier than putting it back together.

Should be no issue taking the old ones off unless something was stripped or cross threaded when they were put on.

The main problem is breaking the exhaust studs off in the heads it's so common they make a guide tool to drill out the stud

WD40 over the exhaust studs before you even start to turn them will help a lot. Go slow, take your time a buddy of mine actually was a dumba$$ and broke them was a good excuse for his bore kit.

It's not a difficult job at all. If you're having trouble with stuck exhaust flange nuts, hit them with a little PB Blaster and come back in 15 minutes. Sometimes your muffler to head pipes can be a little challenging, that's were I usually spritz the joint with a little WD-40. When you put everything back together, use anti-seize on the muffler to head pipe joint. The type of flange on your head pipes will determine the type of exhaust header gasket to use. The stock tapered gaskets are for the rounded type flanges, similar to the stock headers. If you have a flatter profile on the header flange, you'll want to use the SE exhaust gaskets.

The night before i sprayed every nut involved with a penetrating oil overnight. I had no issues.

Installing your new TD's will be a snap in comparison to removing the stock set-up. You'll be wondering why the Moco would ever put such a piece of crap on one of their bikes (and they did it for so long, too).
