Default right off their site

this is right off the hogtunes site
Up until recently, if a Hogtunes product purchased direct from us had an issue requiring service, we would send the customer a replacement and ask that the bad product be destroyed and discarded on our behalf. We did this to avoid the high duties and brokerage charges to get the goods back into Canada, and felt this was the best service we could possibly offer. It has come to our attention that some of these bad products may have made their way onto auction type sites such as EBAY. We have seen things such as "not sure if it works" or "no wire harness" in the suspect product descriptions.

Please be advised that as per Hogtunes warranty policy,
the warranty is for the original purchaser only and is not transferable.Buying and selling on sites such as EBAY should be, and normally is a pleasant experience, but in some cases, if things look to good to be true, it becomesBUYER BEWARE!

This is too..

HOGTUNES uses Drag Specialties as our sole distributor to fill all dealers in the United States, Canada and Europe. Other than help with technical support or service related issues, Hogtunes does not deal directly with retail dealers. Drag Specialties will not accept any warranty claims or phone calls from consumers directly. If your purchase is made through an authorized dealer who will help with a warranty claim, Hogtunes and Drag Specialties have a system in place to make sure you’re taken care of quickly. The dealer calls us direct, and Hogtunes will handle everything from there.

Some dealers choose to sell at very low prices on “auction type” websites (see ebay warning info here). If a “bricks and mortar” store is not for you, and you choose to purchase our products from one of these discounters, please make sure to understand their service and return policies BEFORE any funds are exchanged!

So if you buy a HogTunes product from an authorized Drag Specialties dealer, they would honor the warranty, right? If you buy from an unauthorized dealer, THEY are the original purchaser I would think. And the warranty would NOT be honored... I have read on some auctions on flea-bay that all warranties were to be handled thru the manufacture. HogTunes.. Makes me wonder if it's worth saven a few bucks and not have a 20 year warranty as stated by Hogtunes. Chit, I'll never ride another 20 years. Not this bike, I'll be on a trike!
