looking for help
looking for someone who has taken a touring (ultra) windshield and cut it down.I am going to try this with one I picked up but unsure what the best way would be to do it.what tools would I need? thanks
I once used a belt sander to slowly grind down the edge of a windshield. The trick was to keep the windshield aligned better than 10 degrees with the track of the belt to avoid vibration. Then use the back of a knife to remove the lateral burrs, a fine toothed wide flat file filled with chalk to make the curved chamfer along the edge and finally a grade 600 wet sanding paper to get the satin finish. Never abrade plastic with less than 5 teeth of a file or grains of abrasive engaged over the material. You can also use porc fat on the sanding paper to avoid burning scars into the plastic. I used silverware polish to finish the job

I use a rotozip to cut the bottom edge.
I use another windshield for a template, if you have only one, then use that high school compass.
mark your line, and go.
Takes a few minutes, and is messy.
for bonus points open up the 3 "keyholes" for the screws.
that allows swaps with just loosening, not removing, the screws
