Same question I asked. but removing an 1/8" from the clamp/break side "ledge" on the axle it was able to slide where I needed it to go and securely tightened up.
He did ask if I would throw my stock front wheel on and give it a try that way. I laughed and just said I would machine it to work for me. You never know yours could work perfectly. Haha
glad it worked out for you, but i'm not sure how happy i'd be to spend the dough on something and then have to machine it to make it right. they do look cool though and i'm about to pull the trigger on one myself.
I have the same issue and emailed yaffe about it and awaiting a response...in the interim, I fabricated an aluminum spacer to make up for the 1/8" of space difference on the right side of the forks. I also think for the money spent, it should arrive without having to machine or fabricate to make these items fit
Yeah I didn't want to have to machine it but I live two blocks from a machine shop that a friend of mine works at. I needed the part cause my bike moving to Paint next week. If I had to pay someone to do it I would have ask for a refund.
You have the bottom fork cap on backwards too. That should be flush look at the gap. If that is on correctly it will not slide all the way through. If thats the factory bottom fork cap it tells you on the inside which way should face forward. I know this, Bc I installed my bottom axle cap backwards before my Arlen ness ot legs.
Do I don't know what you looking at but my cap is on correctly with the arrow that says out pointed out. And it is a smooth edge on the face of the edge that touchs the axle. has nothing to do with how the axle slides all the way in. Just saying
Just got a reply back from customer service...They advised my performance machine wheel spacer on the right side is the problem causing the gap. what gives...so now what...cant remove the wheel spacer or else the wheel won't line up right. I typed them back to see what they recommend.

I didn't get wheel spacers with my performance machine wheels. So I used my factory chrome ones that came with my chrome fork lowers.
How does your wheel go in? Is it real tight? In a bind? I think they have a slight variation in there machining. And you and I might have got a messed up axle.
