Default Lower Engine Noise

I could use some help identifying a lower engine noise. My 2001 EGC (build date of 12/00) with 17k miles has devloped a noise that sounds kind of like a loose chain or metel rubbing. It seemed louder when coming off throttle and mostly on the right side so I thought the cam chain tensioners were gone. Opened it up and they both look okay, some wear and pitting but not too bad. So now I'm leaning toward inner cam bearings. What do you guys think it could be?

I just bought the bike a couple of months ago. Oh well you either buy new and make loan payments or buy used and make service payments. Either way it's going to cost you.

I think that's the infamous 01 A motor?

I'm going to assume your cam bearings are done or getting there. Pretty common as is the tensioner.

That's kind of what I'm thinking.

I'm taking it to an Indy Thursday for cam bearings and tensioners. I thought about doing it myself but decided it might be best to let someone who knows what they are doing handle it. Plus I'll get him to go over the bike and check everything out.
