Had my switch replaced in early December on ride home noticed soft pedal also. I called dealership and service manager told me to bring it back and they would bleed brakes. Weather is such that it will be month or so before it gets done Thought of attempting myself but with abs I don't know. Most likely will bring back in and have dealer do it but very disappointed not done right first time.
Changed the head pipe on my '10 RK when I bought it and have been keeping an eye on the switch. So far no leaks and if it stays that way it won't go back to the dealer. I've never been back to a dealer for work and don't intend to if at all possible.
It's a no brainer to bleed the brakes after replacing this switch. I had to replace mine on my 2007 Ultra because it flat out quit working. Took literally 3 minutes to bleed the rear brake. With the right tools (and the stealers
have them) the job is a piece of cake!
I have the same problem with my rear brake. Local HD dealership did the recall "fix" and now I have to take it back....again. The rear brake is spongy and too much pedal.
I had the switch replaced during the 25000 service and the bike was flithy when I picked it up.. I don't have a show bike...I ride mine, but expect it to be as clean coming out as when I take it in. Guess they don't provide rags to wipe off the grease or fingerprints.
The service rep. apologized an offered a free detail...........I'll take it.
It was a recall about the mounting of the fuel tank.
It appears to just be spacers that was installed between
the tank tabs and the frame. It was painless, just having
to take it in to have done. It seems the recall was something
like "In case of frontal impact fuel leakage or fire was likely"
I feel if I am in a frontal impact I more than likely will not
be close to the tank, don't know for sure nor do I want to
find out, just sayin' that's all...............
