2010 Ultra. Rear brakes were working at one stop sign and then not at the next. No pressure at all. Pedal goes right to floor. No apperent leaks. Is this because that recalled brake switch failed? Have not had it replaced yet due to dealer always out of part.
When my rear brakes on my 2009 failed, the brake switch melted and that is where the fluid came out of. The dealer replaced the switch under warranty 1st, and then they replaced it under recall. It has been months now since the recall, your dealer hasn't gotten any switches in or at least put you on a list? Since it is a safety recall, I think you would/should priority?
The first words out of your mouth after you ask them if they have the part yet and remind them how long its been is "My break failed and I crashed into a bus full of children and lawyers." Give them a few seconds to digest that, then ask them when they think they can get you in.
I had almost same thing on my 08 went to stop and no back brake got stopped and pushed pedal down and fluid squirted out front of brake light switch, took it off and had a hole in black plastic part . I took it to stealer and all they could say was HUH .So you guys better keep an eye on the sending switch, mine was very rough on end
I haven't had mine replaced yet either, they keep giving me the same story. Either way you should take your bike in and remind them about the recall last year.
I had my rear brake fail last year at Sturgis, in fact it was on that 5 MPH switch back, I just completed the turn and hit my back brake as it was on the decent. Peddle went to the floor, down shifted and traveled about two miles in first gear until had a shoulder to stop on. No missing fluid in the master cylinder, no liquid anywhere on the line, put the cover back on pump the brakes and liked nothing ever happened. since the high altitude and me hitting the brakes a little more than normal I thought I might have boiled the fluid. Following week I saw the recall brought the bike in no issues since, needless to say when I told my wife she was screaming at me to stop for about a mile and a half the last half was after I finally stated STFU. Might not be able to hear the stereo at 80 but I can damn sure hearty wife screaming at 5
