Default Heated Gear

Ok , I will be buying heated gear and this will be my first expierience with it. My question is for hooking up the jacket liner and gloves what will I need? I also want to minimize the wires dangling. Is the Hd brand better than the Gerbings?

HD is made by Gerbing. you will automatically get the wires you need to hook to the battery. Be sure to get a thermostat. It will save you from getting burned knuckles. You may want a dual thermostat to control your gloves and jacket separately.

I've been looking into this as well. As far as I can see from this forum and some others, Gerbings is the company that makes the HD gear. That is the direction I'm goining. My hold up is the conection, seems like you need to either go with a permanent mounted solution or a dangling wire solution. Neither of which I'm really turned on by. I hope you get some good responce here, it'll help me out too.

Got the Hd gear from Surdyke 60 bux cheaper than the stealer. Got dual controller even tho I only got the jacket liner, just in case I wanted another heated item. I directly mounted their battery connection to left side heat shield panel with a coax jack. No dangling. I got a right angle plug cause when I did end up using the Gerbings straight in plug, it was some what in the way. Best mode yet!

I have my 'dangling wire' come up between the front of the seat and the tank. Very easy access, and just pop the seat off to put it back by the battery.
Heated jacket liner and gloves is the best motorcycling money I've spent.

I have mine the same location and only sticks out maybe 3 inches. I just stuff it under the front of the seat when not using it. Gerbing's discount site has nice stuff if your looking to save a few bucks. My (wife and mine) liners and gloves have no defects. I opted out of the dual controller to save money because I would have to buy 2 of them. I just turn it up until my hands are warm. Never needed to but I figure I would unzip my jacket a tad if need the liner a little cooler. The controller we have is a Symtec that has a USB port on the side. Very nice for charging the cell phone. If the permanent controllers were hidden, I probably would have spent the money for them but don't like the looks of them attached to the bike.

I just did a post about the Gerbings gloves. Do yourself a favor and read it first!

I looked everywhere for one of these and could not find it. Can you pm me with where you got this?
