Folks - not a fan of the windshield (boom audio) or handle bar mounted speakers, has anyone tried mounting these (or similar) on their engine guard? Results?
I personally prefer the speakers tucked behind the windshield. There is no way you are going to hear those engine guard speakers at 80 mph. I like how the video dubs in music over the bike and the speakers. I have a unique cycle sound system and I personally think it looks better then the boom system, it has pioneer speakers and riding yesterday at 80 mph with a full face helmet and ski mask on underneath I could hear my tunes just fine.

I agree the engine guard mounted speakers may look good, you just can't hear them very well. At least when I tried them you couldn't. I got my speakers from www.uniqcycles.com. They sound great at freeway speeds and in my opinion look like they belong on the bike. The first pic is with covers, which is handy if your riding in the rain or on extremely dusty areas.
The next picture is how they normally look.
The advantages are the amp is easy to hide, you don't have big black speaker covers when your are riding and they are pioneer's so they have great sound IMHO.
