Default For those running SE 103" Stage III

How do you like it?

Been researching motor builds for some time now, have a few options out there, but starting to look at the SE 103" Stage III. I've searched the forum and found a few posts, but I am sure there are more out there running this setup.

Please give me your pluses and minuses of this build or any recommendations. Thanks.

My bike is very similar to a stage 3. and the jury is still out on wether i like it or not. that 259e cam will move your torque curve to the right quite a bit. you really need to know how you will ride this bike before you make upgrade decisions. I'm not trying to dissuade you from the stage 3 just make sure that what you want the bike to do well is what that kit will give you. Most of my riding is between 2-4k rpms, so the cam isn't really making peak torque until I'm ready to shift (most of the time). becouse of this characteristic of the cam I'm thinking of a different cam, or going with the stage 4 heads and throttle body to help this cam perform better on the low end. I hope this helps you to make the best decision for you.

Hey guys; First off, not trying to hi-jack this thread. I know of a member here who has an 09 Street Glide, and he had the full blown HD Stage IV installed by Reno HD. He has a good relationship with the service manager; who allowed him to swap out the SE 259 or 260 cams and went with Woods 400 or 408. Everything else he left as the kit comes with. He acheived incredible results. The bike runs awesome and moved the torque curve way over to the left. His dyno sheet is posted on here, I will try to find it and repost it. Just wanted to mention this to whoever is thinking of going with the SE kit.

I have the stage 4 103 kit after a few hiccups, mine is running like a gorilla. It's a great set up and I dynoed at 112hp and 114tq. I like it but if u had to do it all over again probably would have waited till warranty was up and maybe would have went with fuel moto set up. Alittle cheaper for fuel moto set up. Dislikes are for stage 4 is it runs really hot and had install temp gauge to keep an eye the temp. Other then that the guys I ride with all have stock motors with a simple stage 1 and get pissed when I lead the pack cause the cant stay with me. The bike just wants to get and go from a dead stop and cruising the highway at 85, she just keeps pullin. Good luck in what u choose.

Thanks for the reply. You pretty much just voiced every concern I've had about this kit. Just seems to need a little more RPMs than where I normally ride. Seems with the Stage IV, the bigger TB, Heads, and injectors move the TQ to the left a bit (or at least up) but without that, seems too steep to 4k RPMs than I'd like.

Well back to my other plans for a build. Thanks for the reply.

I don't know what kind of $ you're lookin at with a stage III or IV, but my local dealer wanted twice what I paid for my 107" from Fuel Moto. Done in 1 day, broke-in and dynoed for $2K is tough to beat. I'm sure they can set you up with exactly what you're lookin for. Great people up there.

My stage 3 should be on the dyno in the next couple of weeks. I'll post the results.
