Default Engine guard removal

Im curious. Has anyone removed their engine guard and mounted highway pegs in the bottom of the frame where the engine guard mounts? And please don't tell me how big of a fool I am for removing my engine guard. That's a separate conversation. It seems to me that would be a good place to mount highway pegs.

Default Yes I have

I thought the same thing and decided to remove mine. 2009 streetglide, removed the engine guard, bought right angle peg mounts from kuryakan, peg mount extensions and long pegs. You also need to order clamps that go on the frame tube from them as well for the right angle mounts to fit to. On my streetglide I had to reorder the clamps because I ordered the 1 1/ 2 in the first time. They were too big and 1 1/4s are too small Frame is like 1 3/8. It looks awesome, really narrows and cleans up the front end. You will need to mount them higher than you would pegs on the engine guard to keep from hitting the brake pedal with you heel when using them. Not a problem for me as that brings them up and closer which I like. Not a good idea if you are long legged as your knees will be bent way up. There is another comany that makes long extensions but I cannot remember the name and ruled them out. As far as as scolding for removing the engine guard, ...well it is my bike, its paid for, its insured, I didn't have one on my dyna when I had it and I do not plan on dropping it. Stuff happens and if it does then oh well, I looked good doing it.

Not sure how good these pictures are. They are Jaybrake Forward Controls. Lots of adjustment. I like them.
