i picked up a new tp spoiler with lights, kit number 53149-99 today at a swap meet. the package is complete except it is missing the template, part #50001-01. has anyone installed one of these? any tips or tricks i should know? most importantly does anyone have a template i could borrow or purchase or make a copy? instructions say it is on a 10x25 sheet of paper. thanks
I would expect it to be a lot like the template for the rack......Useless. A template is only as good as the placement. I can't imagine it being to awfully tough. Just be sure to get it far enough back in case you ever want to install a rack.
thanks onedown. the instructions say something about the template heelps line up for future rack install. i'm sure i could do without template, just thought it might be a little easier. krazy 3, thanks for your reply.
thanks soos. i will shoot you a pm with my info. did you use the template, and was it helpful. i have to get it painted before i can install it. thanks again. this is why i love this forum, people helpin people.
Sounds like you have the template on the way. I installed mine. I was worried I'd jack up the holes and/or the Tour Pak. Followed direcitons, used sharp drill bits, and I may have put tape down for my own peace of mind when I drilled. Turned out great, and much easier than I expected, and I didn't screw up the Tour Pak!
I would expect it to be a lot like the template for the rack......
When I installed the rack for HOG95023,there was no template for the rack but there was one for the spoiler.
Ended up removing my rack to measure the holes.
I would still use painters tape and layout the holes from the template onto the tape.Place the spoiler over the layed out locations to double check before punching holes.
