This link should help ya make a decision. I didn't think the cowbells(sliders) were all that bad!! guess it depends onthe model of bike. On my EG you could get adequate room for bolt by removing the front of the fairing. Hope this helps...
If you are just switchin over I would do it myself. still trying to locate the link for ya. Lowering it is a bit more in depth but still do-able for some one with a lil mechanical background (can look at pics....LOL)
If I cant find the link I will sit and write out the instructions for you. The upper slider doesnt even have to be removed from the bike if your keepin the same springs and all in the front end.
I would appreciate the info. I lowered the front and rear of my last bike and would rather do the work myself. Zanotti's has the front end kit for $359. Whats the deal with the seals do they get reused or replaced? BTW Nice bike!
I recommend replacing them, I did. I figured that I was there and if it was to leak shortly after being in them I would be [:@]. Cause to replace them it all has to comeback apart.

Not a problem bro, If I can pass knowledge on to a fellow rider and help them save some of that hard earned cash for more chrome goodies, I always try to lend a hand!!!
I was at my local Stealer last night....The guy behind the parts counter says, "Hey, have you seen the winter specials we are running?" One of them was a chrome front end special. Included the kit plus seals, oil, and LABOR Regular price $959, and the SPECIAL price $819. What a ripoff!!! So if you want to compare it to that I guess $509 is a steal, but I like the sound of doing it myself for alot cheaper.

Actually I bought the kit that is listed in the harley catalog. I have seen numerous listings that would still save ya $100 bucks or so under HD dealer price.
