Help with Samson exhaust

Help with Samson exhaust
Ok Ive been told two different things by two different techs. here it is, Im gonna run Samson 33 in Longtails non baffled. One tech says use torque cones, the other tech says no on the torch cones due to build up of excessive heat at the head near the cones.He did say yes to the performance rings. Im about to pull my friggin hair out..Can somebody straighten this out?

doesn't the twin cam head have built in steps to provide same function as the "tork valves" used on evo heads?
these increase velocity and help prevent reversion.
I know the first version of the TC heads had these steps- don't know if that changed or what year bike we are talking about.
