Default Brake pads

So I did my fluids today in prep for the spring riding. I have had the rear brake squeal issue since i have owned the bike (1 yr). I clean the rotor about every 2 weeks to keep it somewhat quiet. Its embarrassing at red light sometimes. I was at the dealer last week asking about a tire and also asked about the brake pad. They opened a new set (HD) and it had the paste included so keep it quiet. I am pretty sure the ones I have are original and I have 13 k on them now. So would I really need any yet? Even the new ones looked very thin to me. Mine are thinner than the new HD ones for sure. So I was also thinking of getting the Lyndalls like everyone talks about, but will I need the paste and stuff to keep them quiet too and if so where do I get it. Do I just use CRC disc brake quiet like on my truck? Also the HD ones are 50 bucks for the rear. Is there any directions as to removing the ones I have just to look at them? I have the service manual for my bike but I need to pick up some long metric allen sockets first. I just want to make sure I get it done right the first time.
thanks Jeff

With your svc manual and correct tools, you will be fine. Take your time and hope install goes well.

I don't waste time with the HD pads, because they creat way too much dust. It will corrode your wheels after awhile and I don't like have to clean after every ride...
I use Lyndal Z pads. Hardly any dust and no fade. As for the noise I have never has any noise from my brakes, but I don't run the HD pads very long. Swapping out pads is an easy thing to do, but on the back I would do one at a time. Doing mine in a couple of weeks...

I am using the LRB Z-Plus on my 09 streetglide, says on the package fits 08 too. Low dust, good feel. sometimes i get a low squeal when going really slow like up to a traffic light. my routine at 5k maintenance I remove the brakes, clean the caliper and scrub the pads on sandpaper on a flat surface. I also scrub the rotors with a green cleaning pad to scuff them up. the brake pads are hard and can glaze up during periods of heaving breaking, like riding hard and close in large group. good life out of them now at 63500 miles, 15,500 on front set and back now. this is my third set of LRB's. the first 15,000 miles of the bikes life i went through 3 sets of H-D brakes! next service at 65,000 miles will scrub pads and rotors and will be good to go deluxe, highly recommended for long life and good feel.
