Default Help or not...?

I am on my first road bike and am finally putting on highway pegs. The question I have is should I wrap a layer of rubber around the crashbars where I plan mount the pegs? My thought is to my resale value as I dont want to mark the bars up as I plan to keep the highway pegs for my next bike. Is this worth while to do? or is there a better solution?

On the ones I have I don't think any rubber thicker than an inner tube would fit. Mine have been on for 3 + years and I've moved them several times without noticing any marring.

Good luck!

Nope .... Don't put any rubber under the clamps .... It will/can cause problems with the pegs staying put should you put force on them. Clean the bars good, mount the pegs and before tightening be sure that they are where you want them, then torque to specs! You'll be fine and so will the pegs.
