Someone who can't tune with a PCV and doesn't like Vance & Hines exhaust? - don't buy a different fuel management system, find another tuner.
Really! Are ya sure ya know what your talking about? Was ya in Cincinatti when the reps from V&H said "All we care about is that it looks good & sounds good?" when asked about the tunining issues a particular tuner was having with there pipes? If thats all ya care about then ya surely dont need Doc anyhow! Some folks on here that were willing to learn, learned alot from Doc, including myself. He is a pioneer in his field for sure. Its a shame he cant post any more. His reputation speaks for itself. Dont bash what ya don't know about!

So a particular tuner was having an issue with their pipes? Not every tuner in the country?
There are a lot of bikes in the country using PCV/PV/Thundermax/etc that run just great. A lot of you guys try to convince people that if Doc hasn't tuned their bikes, then they only care about looks.
A 1000 lb bike putting out a whopping 80HP and you guys are drinkin' Docs Koolaid. If that's what you care about buy a 'Busa.
Thanks dude, and thank you very much for your service.
I think this forum is a great place and the majority of the folks are here to genuinely help. Every once in a while though, I will be reading a thread and read that same "you mean to tell me you have a $21,000 bike and your cheaping out on a blah blah blah"...cranks me up to no end. They have no idea what anyone's finances are like, so unless they're gonna write a check so I can do what they think I should do, they should keep that sh*t to themselves. Everything that's on my scoot that's listed in my signature came off the bike i traded in to get the 12, with the exception of the tour pack luggage rack. The dealer included swapping out my accessories as part of the deal. The tune is the first real money I'm gonna spend on it..that and the 1,000 mile service, so between the 2 thats my budget. There is no room for another tuner...but they dont stop to ask or think about stuff like that.
No problem.
You are right about the forum. I used to get on here alot when I had my Train. But, then decided that it doesn't really matter that much what people say or think when that kind of stuff comes up. So, I stopped getting on. Now that I am over here in the dirt, I started getting back on. Not too much has changed. I do like the fact that there are alo of people here to help for the most part. I don't buy anything for my bike unless I go on deployment. That is when I get extra money and that is the only time that I will let my bike be down for any length of time.
Hope that you get the information that you are looking for and YOU are the one that is happy with your decision.
from what i see in your sig, call jamie at fuel moto get an auto tune,u and a base map sent to u.and spend the 150.oo saved on some fun up at daytona.and just wondering is the jenson beach food hut still have the best chili dogs?enjoy your ride

None of those listed use the stock 12mm O2 sensors, with the possible exception of the PV, and I believe everybody just pays extra for the autotune module for it anyway...
One other thought.. many folks just say it's the depth of the O2 sensor, so V&H is not good. Fuel Moto's pipe was brought up recently when someone questions slow speed tuning issues, but everyone said it must be correct since so many people are using it and issues would have been brought up by now. Also, other folks also say any one using a header for 2010 bike and up is not correct either due to placement of the O2 bungs cross talking, especially without a cat.
If you want to use a specific person to tune your bike, talk to them before you start purchasing any products.

Not every tuner in the country knows what they're doing. In fact, I'd venture to say less than half do. So, for the dumb (m)asses, there are better exhausts at least from a tuning perspective. Furthermore, I didn't see any posts talking about horsepower. When people talk about good tuners, or at least when I do, I'm talking about how good it runs from a perspective of running smooth, like an electric motor, not just power at WOT. A lot of tuners can make a bike run good WFO but a good tuner can make a bike run great at every rpm and every throttle position. Doc has no reason to tell you something will or won't work. If V&H exhausts work good, why wouldn't he say so? It would only make his job easier and make him look better. He doesn't sell things that don't work to line his pockets even though he easily could. That cannot be said about a lot of other tuning facilities. Again, you can't argue with facts but some people will try. No koolaid here, just facts.
