I have the HD LED and the Passing Lamps. I started out with just the headlamp and which made the passing lamps look rather yellow. I didn't change the passing lamps until I had one burn out so I went all the way with the replacement. I simply did not like the looks of the multiple LEDS on the truck light brand. Just matter of how I wanted my bike to look. If I was soley concerned with function the TL would have been fine.
Go HID...Price wise there is no comparison. Light output is outstanding also. LEDs are the future. Just not there yet. Price is just too high for the average guy to try.
Seen & read about HD's LED set-up having issues w/moisture...friend returned his b/c it was always wet "inside" and it started right after install. Thought maybe it was defective, but there are lots of riders w/same issue...might want to go w/TL...
If you're not in a hurry, wait just a little longer on the Truck Lite Phase 7.
Might pay to wait and make an informed decision, minimize regrets.
Maybe, maybe not, you can decide.
Won't be long now...
I would disagree - especially after the 3rd HID ballast failure in rural Colorado late at night. If you are on a road trip when an HID bulb or ballast fail, you WILL NOT find a stocking dealer with matching parts, since components from different HID manufacturers ARE NOT interchangeable. You'll have to go back to your original source, or be waiting on the UPS guy.
The reliability of LEDs far surpasses that of HID, making the cost difference absolutely worth it, IM(based on experience)HO <lol>
I went with the Harley LED set on my Ultra.. Lot of money but love it as ride often at night and the lights light up all three lanes of the freeway and give me distance as well. Figured cheap insurance to keep me from hitting Bambi on the ride home from work ..
I also went with the HD LED set up, and am very happy with the increased visibility at night (when most of my riding is done). The only draw back is that the headlight seems to vibrate more than the stock unit.
