Does the painted inner fairing from HD have holes for the mirrors or is it smooth? Or does somebody else sell one where there are no mirror holes... Not a real big fan of the chips and such for filling them, but then again, I aint a fan of paying big bucks to get somebody to fabricate it either.....
Anyone ever taped off the fairing and painted it on the bike? I know a painter and could probably get that done for reasonable money, but am not too interested in pulling it off the bike......

All fairings from HD - painted or primed - are "smooth" - no holes. you have to drill them if you want to mount the fairing mirrors.

It's been almost a year but my dealer quoted $1100.00 for a color matched inner fairing installed. No Thanks!
I'd say they quoted ya about 400.00 over.
just did mine with cvo guages, oil temp kit, front booms, and fogs on high kit, bought all the stuff in winter for savings, 1,240 and change. i did the work so no labor, but anyone who's flipped one, should be in for 3 hours time. I fumbled more with the key switch, and c clip for clutch pin than anything else. Don"t expect to do it in 3 hours you're first time, but it looks worse then it is.
Anyone around northern Ohio my Indy who has an excellent painter on his staff is doing them for $400. That's for him to pull yours out paint it to match and reinstall.
